That fox comes at night and has his favourite spot at the end of the garden, where he destroys the grass. Is there anything I can spray or something. The fence does not seem to keep him away.
Sable answers:
God forbid it damage the precious grass! Personally I would be quite happy to see a fox visiting my garden, it’s natural wildlife.
Most people get cats and dogs pooping in the borders or problems with rats and pigeons, why worry about a fox? It’s more interesting to watch than a patch of grass.

Are there others who believe Fox News controls the Republican party?
I heard this from the former speech writer for George W. Bush who was interviewed on MSNBC. I see. Obama is the antiChrist and FOX is the beast. Come Jesus.
Sable answers:
I am sure there are, just like there are those who believe that MSNBC is all for Obama, or that CNN is run by the Democratic party. Really it is all nonsense. The owners of FOX are conservative, so their news spin is that way, the owners of MSNBC or CNN liberal, so they have a more liberal view. But really look at the news stories and they are both the same, people just confuse the commentators and opinions on the networks with the actual news reporting.

How can I stop a fox from eating my ducks?
I live in Connecticut on a secluded farm. My ducks roam freely around my property in the day time, mainly staying by the pond, and at night I put them up in their house. I now have a fox coming out almost everyday killing a duck. I do not know what to do. These ducks are my pets and I don’t want them to be killed!!
Sable answers:
Unless you keep them caged in a safe enclosure…the fox will continue to kill them. You cannot offer a free meal to wildlife and not expect them to take it. Can you build a larger enclosure to keep them in permanently..and only let them roam when you are there to supervise?

How to make an artic fox out of recycleable materials, got ideas?
My daughter is in 4th grade and has to make an artic fox out of recycable materials, got ideas. I thought about newspapaer, and wire (I think I saw this ideal somewhere). Got suggestions on how to do this?
Sable answers:
If you the newspaper and wire idea, you might use paper mache’…you can do homemade paper mache with flour and water…you mix a bit of flour with water and it should be pretty runny but still have some substance to it. And then you rip the newspaper into strips and lay it over the top of the wire frame (which is like the skeleton of the fox)…something else that might help is blown up balloons for the structure…that would make it easier to lay the strips of soaked newspaper on. Once the paper mache has dried, you pop the balloons and pull them out, so the finished product would be pretty much all recycled.
Another idea might be to use milk jugs…maybe use an empty milk jug that you cut with scissors to make a face and body and then you could affix the plastic with wire. I don’t know how detailed the fox needs to be since she’s only in 4th grade, but it seems like drawing an outline of a fox head on the milk jug and cutting it out, and then maybe adding 3d ears out of more of the milk jug might be plausible.
Good luck!

How do you build a flying fox in your backyard?
We have a large garden, with a treehouse high up, and another large tree which has some lower branches roughly 20 metres away. How would we build a flying fox between the two trees, what would we need to do it, where could we get the equipment and how much would it cost?
Sable answers:
Depending on how long the equipment is going to be left in place…..permanent? Temperary? ….
Also depending on your budget…..
Best…first….
Using a nylon sling of sufficient length to fit around the tree where you are fixing the attachment points….. ( this is preferable to be flat webbed strapping so as not to cut into the tree….and preferable to have manufactured loops at either end..) …. The sling is ” shackled ” together at the loops with galvanised ” D ” shackle of approxiamately 12mm or greater….
If the strap is wound around the tree trunk / limb once first before the ends are shackled, then this will assist in the strap from moving too much on the tree…..
To these shackle points you fit a rope that is to be the main runner of the flying fox…. Preferably made of silver nylon…or better….check with rope supplier…this should be of say 30mm or better rope… (rope is measured in cicumference…)
The best way of fitting this rope is to splice both ends in a loop so as to fit into a shackle…. The rope is then tensioned at the top end with a large turnbuckle ( galvanised of at least 12mm ) , note: — this turnbuckle should be loosened after each day / period of use so as not to put undue strain on the trees…and or removed — in a storm situation….as it could help in moving the tree…..
Purchase a suitable snap block stainless steel is better… This is usually from a ships chandeler etc. Should be the correct size for the main rope and of capable weight loading for more than 250kg…. Depending on the sling arrangement for the seat etc. It is better to have a loop or ringed pulley than a hooked type…..this will not allow the drop rope / sling to fall of any hook….
In general: only have a slight downward slope / gradient on the main rope…. Do not have the snap block pulley within reach of little fingers…. Do have a safety rope or breaking system for the rider, so as not to hit the lower of the support trees etc. In all construction make sure safety is paramount….use helmets and gloves…
Hope this helps.

Fennec fox owners, do you enjoy having a fennec fox,was it hard to train at first, what were some difficulties?
Hi, I am considering getting a fennec fox. I’ve done lots of researching and I know they are legal and I know a good, nearby breeder. I was just wondering what it’s like to actually have a fennec fox, and would like to hear from some fennec fox owners.
Thanks
Legal in my area that is.
Sable answers:
Well, I don’t personally have one, but I’m at the same spot you are. But since there are no answers to your question…I’m going to say what I’ve read from other people whom had had one… They said they were really wonderful and playful, and that their 2 young nieces just love him, and love to play with him. And that he is very exciting, even if slightly hard to keep… Yeah, I know that’s not very helpful to your question, I am just trying to help. Hah. So, good luck, and let me know if anyone answers this correctly, because this was going to be my next question I’d put up here. =)

How do you feel about some at fox news suggestion that we should lower the minimum wage?
Some commentators at fox new have suggested that the government should lower the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to fix our economy. In other words take away from those who can least afford it, so that the the wealth can trickle upwards. And finally how do these people sleep at night?
Sable answers:
I did not see this opinion of Fox news, as I do not watch Fox, and it is because of the simplistically stupid opinions offered by them.
